Understanding the Traffic Report

Dashboard

In the Dashboard section of your Traffic Statistics, you will see an overview of your traffic statistics.  At the top of the Dashboard page, you can filter the Traffic Statistics to display the statistics for the day, week, month, or year. To do this, select the filter (Today, Yesterday, This Week, This Month, This Year) from the dropdown menu next to Date and click Filter

Next, a graph of your Traffic Per Day is displayed.  The light blue line indicates the total views for each day and the green line indicates total visits for each day.  A Traffic chart appears next to the Traffic Per Day graph.  This chart displays the Total Views, Total Visits, and Average Page Views per Visitor for the filter you have selected.

Traffic Statistics

Under the Traffic Per Day graph, you will see different sections of statistics that display where your traffic is coming from and what pages they are viewing the most.  The Sources section displays what percentage of your website traffic is Direct Traffic (the visitor is typing in your website address), what percentage is coming from Search Engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.) and what percentage is from Referring Sites (other websites that display a link to your website).

The Search Engines section displays what percentage of your traffic is coming from  specific seach engines.  For example, say 43% of your website traffic is from search engines, the Search Engines sections tells you which search engines and displays them in order of percentage amount.  It could be 25% from Google, 10% from Yahoo, and 8% from Bing.

The Countries section displays how many Visits to your website and how many Views come from different countries.

The Top 20 Sources section displays the top 20 specific sources for your website traffic.  Here you can see exactly which web address or seach engine your traffic is coming to your website from and what percentage of your traffic comes from each source.

The Top Pages section lists the most viewed pages of your site from most viewed to least viewed.
