Virginia Peninsula
The Virginia Peninsula of Virginia is bounded by the York river, James River and Chesapeake Bay. The Virginia Peninsula is the northern portion of the Hampton Roads area. The subregion of Hampton Roads includes the counties of James City and York as well as the cities of Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, and Williamsburg.

Peninsula READS provides English as a second language and reading tutuoring. Their adult literacy program consists of services necessary to meet the literacy needs of adults on the Peninsula. Services include Basic Literacy tutoring, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) tutoring, computer instruction, volunteer tutor training, follow-up and support, and the development of additional specialized activities through collaborative efforts with other community organizations and businesses.
