Hampton Roads is a Metro Area and Region in Southeastern Virginia that is comprised of 17 localities.  It is named for the Hampton Roads Bay, where the James River and Chesapeake Bay connect.  Hampton Roads, or 'the 757', is America's First Region (Jamestown Settlement, 1607) and is known for its diverse culture with a strong business climate and growing population.

Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce

The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce is comprised of over 2,500 members concentrated in the South Hampton Roads sub-region of Hampton Roads, VA.  HRCC currently has offices in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, and Suffolk but is undergoing a consolidation of offices to one central location in Norfolk, VA.  HRCC provides business support and professional networking for small businesses and other regional institutions.

Hampton Roads Planning District Commission

The Hampton Roads Planning District Commission (HRPDC), is one of 21 Planning District Commissions in the Commonwealth of Virginia, it is a regional organization representing the area's sixteen local governments.

Planning District Commissions are voluntary associations and were created in 1969 pursuant to the Virginia Area Development Act and a regionally executed Charter Agreement. The HRPDC was formed in 1990 by the merger of the Southeastern Virginia Planning District Commission and the Peninsula Planning District Commission.

 

 

Hampton Roads Sports Commission

The Hampton Roads Sports Commission is an affiliate of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the cities of Newport News, Norfolk, and Virginia Beach is working to attract major amateur athletic events to the region.

Hampton Roads Transportation Planning Organization

The Hampton Roads Transportation Planning Organization (HRTPO) is the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), a federally mandated policy body for transportation planning, for the Hampton Roads area. It is responsible for planning and programming for the Hampton Roads Metropolitan Planning Area (MPA).
