Insercorp has supported the Asian business community in Hampton Roads for nearly a decade since its involvement in the founding of the Asian Business Association of Hampton Roads in 2010. Through sponsorship of the organization’s communications and event marketing Insercorp has forged relationships with many underserved communities in the region, most recently building relations with the Korean community.
A major player in the Korean community in Hampton Roads is the Korean Post, a bi-weekly Korean-language newspaper that was launched in 2004 and distributed free of charge to over 20,000 Koreans in Southeast Virginia.
In late 2018 the Korean Post Corporation reached out to Insercorp to create a custom responsive website to expand their newspaper to reach more people by transitioning from print to digital media. Insercorp created a custom design for the new website to be responsive, adjusting to different screen sizes, allowing for a user-friendly experience on any device including desktop and laptop computers, tablets, and smartphones.
1KPost.com focuses on providing interactive information including the latest Korean, US, local, and community news for website visitors. Classifieds and user-submitted stories provide an interactive experience, allowing user listings and stories to be submitted and shared with ease and simplicity. The website can be viewed in its native Korean language or translated to English with the click of a convenient translation button. The Korean newspaper website also features themed news sections, dynamic advertisement zones, AMP Pages for quickly viewing articles on mobile devices, and Kakao Talk integration.
Insercorp integrated the new custom responsive website design into its proprietary Web Content Management System (CMS), iPlasmaCMS2, a user friendly browser based app which requires no technical experience allowing website administrators to easily add and manage website content. The new Korean-American online publication is built for performance and focuses on accessibility, best practices, and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). The website is secured with encryption utilizing the best practices to prevent known attack methods, mitigating the risk of critical security vulnerabilities and providing a safe browsing experience for website visitors.
